In brief. We use the details you give us to respond to your enquiry and carry out the requested work. Our website does not store a separate copy of your enquiry; it is securely sent to our team by email. We never send your personal details to Google Analytics, and we don't sell personal information.
About this policy
This policy explains how Electrical Bros West Coast Pty Ltd (ABN 19 674 885 431), trading as Electrical Bros West Coast ("we", "us" or "our"), handles personal information collected through our website, www.electricalbros.com.au.
Booking enquiries
When you book online, we collect:
- your name and phone number;
- your Perth suburb;
- your email address and your business or agency name, if you choose to give them;
- the details of your enquiry: the type of job, the service you need, your answers to the booking questions and any notes you add.
We also record when you sent your enquiry and the page you sent it from. To see how customers find us, your enquiry also includes the first page you opened on our website during your visit, the website that sent you to us (such as a search engine), and any campaign tags or Google Ads click identifier in the link you followed. Your browser holds these details only until you close the tab, and we use them only with your enquiry.
How we use your details
We use your details to call you back, answer your enquiry, quote, and arrange and carry out the work. The referral and campaign details show us which of our advertising and listings bring enquiries. We don't sell personal information collected through this website.
How your enquiry reaches us
When you send a booking, your browser sends it over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our website's server. The server checks it and passes it to Resend, our email delivery service, which delivers it to our business email inbox for our team. Resend keeps a record of each email it delivers for up to 30 days, so delivery problems can be checked. Resend is based in the United States, so your enquiry may be processed outside Australia. Our website doesn't keep a copy of your enquiry: the email to our team is the record.
Hosting, spam and security
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser information to deliver our pages and protect the website from attacks, and may do this outside Australia.
To stop spam and duplicate bookings, our website's server keeps short-lived security records: coded (hashed) versions of the booking reference, your IP address and your phone number, with the time of the request. They don't contain your details in readable form, are used only to block spam, repeated submissions and duplicates, and are deleted after 24 hours. Our server's logs record technical events only, such as whether an enquiry email was sent, never your name, phone number, email address or IP address.
Website analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how people use our website: for example, which pages are visited, how visitors find us (such as through a Google search) and whether they start a booking or tap our phone number. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about your device and browser, the pages you view and your approximate location. Google says Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We never send your name, phone number, email address, suburb or anything you type into our forms to Google Analytics. Google may process this information outside Australia. You can read how Google uses information from websites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Website statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare, which also gives us privacy-focused statistics: how many pages are viewed, which pages and websites visitors arrive from, the types of browsers and devices used, visitors' countries and how quickly our pages load. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or similar browser storage to track visitors and does not identify individual visitors.
Google reviews on our website
Our home page shows our Google rating and reviews. Our website asks Google's Places service for them through our own server, without sending any information about you. Your browser then loads reviewers' profile pictures directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address and browser information for those images. We show reviews as Google provides them and do not store them. This feature is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service (maps.google.com/help/terms_maps) and the Google Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Cookies and your browser
Our website doesn't set cookies of its own, and the only thing it keeps in your browser is the referral information described under Booking enquiries, held in session storage until you close the tab. Google Analytics uses cookies, as described above. Cloudflare may set a security cookie if it needs to check that a visitor is a person rather than an automated program. You can block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings and still browse our website and book online.
Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites, such as Google Maps, our Google reviews, government safety information and our sister business, Plumbing Bros West Coast. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
